The Bonnieville Annual Community Christmas Dinner will be held Wednesday, December 25th, at the Bonnieville Firehouse at 1:00 p.m.  Donations are needed once again this year, such as: cash, corn, turkeys, hams, dressing, mac & cheese, fried apples, green beans, rolls, canned drinks, cranberry sauce and any desserts.  The dinner will be served for Bonnieville, Munfordville, Upton, Cub Run and the Horse Cave areas with delivery to the sick and shut-ins only.  Any and all donations can be delivered to or picked up by Betty at 531-3265, Teresa at 531-2255 or Tawana at 528-1680.  Monetary donations can be mailed to: Betty Bowman, P. December 26th

 

A two night revival will be held at Pitman Creek Church in Cumberland County on Thursday and Friday, December 26th and 27th at 6:00 p.m. nightly. For more information, call 459-7128.

 

 

December 29th, 2013

 

New Direction from Glasgow will be singing at Edmonton Baptist Church on Sunday, December 29th. The singing will begin at 6:00 p.m.  The church is located at 208 Dunham Street, Edmonton.  For more information, call 270-308-5244 or 270-670-5144.

December 31st, 2013

 

Glasgow Faith Church will have New Year's Eve service beginning at 8:00 p.m.  The church is located at 3050 Old Bowling Green Road. The Trinity Christian Outreach Church will join in with our service.  There will be special singing by both churches and preaching by Bro. Freddie Froedge the pastor of Trinity Christian Outreach Church.  Refreshments will be served.  The pastor is Bro. Roger Poynter.

 

The Light House Church located on the Old Glasgow Road in Horse Cave, will be having a Watch Night service on Tuesday, December 31st, at 8:00 p.m. The church singers will be the featured singers, all singers are invited.  There will be preaching, candlelight Communion and foot washing.  Food will be served around 10:00 p.m.  The pastor is Bro. Bobby Neal.

 

Night Watch service will be held at Grace Union Baptist Church Tuesday, December 31st, at 8:00 p.m. Bro. Dennis Key will bring the message, there will be singing, finger foods, fellowship with midnight prayer.  The pastor is Stoney McKinney.

 

 

Non-Specific Dates

 

Friends of Mammoth Cave, a group of concerned citizens and community leaders working with the National Park Service started the organization in order to preserve and protect Mammoth Cave National Park.  At the same time, the Friends Organization hopes to enhance visitors' and family experiences for years to come.  The organization works to fund important projects and initiatives many of which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service.  The Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park receives no annual government funding, relying instead upon the support of private citizens, foundations, and corporations.  The organization is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible.  For more information, contact Gayle at 1-270-597-7604 or visit www.FriendsofMammothCave.org

The food pantry will be open every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Munfordville Baptist Church from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Also the food pantry is open on the following Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. 

Community Action of Southern Kentucky announces participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the Kentucky Department of Education.  Participants eligible for free and/or reduced price meals must have a complete application with documentation of eligibility information which may include a food stamp or K-TAP case number, or names of household members and income information.  The center in Hart County is located at 815 Main Street, Munfordville.  If you have a question regarding the program, please contact Mitzie Pruitt or Kacey Cole at 270-782-3162.

 

Quitting smoking is not easy, but with the right support you can do it.  The Cooper/Clayton method gives people the help they need to get past their cravings.  If you or someone you know is interested in quitting smoking, call the Kentucky Cancer Program at 270-842-0950 to enroll in these classes.  The classes are free, but require nicotine replacement therapy.  Nicotine replacement products will be available for the participant to purchase at a low discount price.  Nicotine patches will cost participants about $1.50 a day. 

 

Hart of Autism, a support group for parents and educators of children on the autism spectrum will be held every 3rd Monday of every month at Munfordville Baptist Church at 3:15 p.m.  For more information call 774-1180.
