Friday is food distribution day for Abundance from the Hart... From 10:30am until 2pm at Munfordville Baptist Church. Attendants will be in the back parking lot to help you get in line. Please have space ready in your vehicle. For more information on the Hart County program, call 270-786-4339.

Sunday, March 22nd, 2025

Shepherds House Africa Fundraiser Chili Supper & Auction will be held Saturday, March 22nd, at Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse in Glasgow. Choose from chili or soup, with a sandwich, drink & dessert. The cost is $9 and will be served from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The auction will begin at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the Africa Ministry to purchase clothes, shoes, food and Bibles for the orphans.

Thursday, March 27th, 2025

Students in grades 6-8 are invited to get "Stuck in the Middle" with 4-H... A two-day (overnight) event at West Kentucky 4-H Camp March 27th-28th. Registration includes fun workshops, outdoor adventures and leadership opportunities while exploring the world of 4-H.  The cost is $60. The Spirituals from Edmonton will sing Sunday, March 30th, at 6:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church at 90 Salem Church Road, Cave City.

 Jeff Sneed Trio will sing at Faith Union Baptist Church Sunday, March 30th, at 10:00 a.m. The church is located at 102 E Hord Street in Campbellsville.

Jeff Sneed Trio will sing at Maple Grove #2 Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, March 30th, at 2:00 p.m. The church is located at 2634 Scottsville Road in Lafayette, TN.

Hart County 4-H will hold their annual radio auction here on WLOC beginning Monday, March 31st.  The auction will be from 9-11am each day except Wednesday. Join us to bid, buy and help Hart County 4-H with their annual radio auction.

 

Friday, April 4th, 2025

 Hart County Conservation District is sponsoring Free Tree Giveaway Friday, April 4th, at 10:00 a.m. The event will be at the Farmers Market Pavilion on Main Street in Munfordville. Species include: Pecan Eastern Redbud, White Pine, Persimmon, Red Shumard Oak, White Oak, Paw-Paw, Wild Plum Blackgum and Flowering Dogwood. The free tree giveaway is for Hart County residents only. Benefit auction for Bobby Logsdon will be held Saturday, April 5th, at 11 a.m. at Upton Community Center on College Street in Upton. Saturday, April 12th, 2025

Hart County Veterans Committee 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 12th, at 1:00 p.m. at 3324 S Dixie Hwy, Horse Cave. There will be over 6,000 eggs, candy and gift certificates. Bring a bucket, it is free and open to all ages. The veteran's committee is also accepting non-perishable food items for the food cabinet.

 

Angela Seng Album Release Concert will be hosted by Life Point Church Saturday, April 12th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST with a Meet & Greet. Special guest will be Chris Golden and the church is located at 401 W. Poplar Street, Elizabethtown. The concert will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST followed by a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

Highland United Methodist Church Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at Harper’s Ridgetop Paylake & Market, 4083 Mammoth Cave Rd, Cave City Saturday, April 12th, at 11:00 a.m.  There will be lots of eggs and each child will receive a goody bag. For more information, contact Nicki at 270-590-2844.

Munfordville's Cherry Blossom Festival will be held Saturday, April 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the courthouse square. There will be food, crafts, free inflatables, free petting zoo and lots more. For more information, call 270-524-4752.

Holy Week Revival will be held at Salem Baptist Church in Cave City Sunday, April 13th, through Friday, April 18th, at 6:00 p.m. nightly. There will be different preachers and singers each night with special guest Oneida Baptist School Youth Choir from Eastern Kentucky with preaching by Bro. Frank Stratton..

Hart County Historical Society & Munfordville Tourism present the 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Courthouse Lawn Saturday, April 19th. The hunt begins at 10am. There are four age categories.  Find the Golden Egg for a grand prize. Call 270-524-0101 for additional information.

Easter morning worship and fellowship will be held at Salem Baptist Church located at 90 Salem Church Road, Cave City, on Sunday, April 20th, at 9:30 a.m. with a breakfast, followed with a worship service at 11:00 a.m. There will be kids activities as well.

Benefit for Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will be held Saturday, April 26th, at Alvey's Towing & Recovery. The day will begin with a car show/swap meet from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The entry fee is $20 and prizes will be given. All vehicles are welcome. Udderly Delicious Ice-cream Truck and The Big M Grill will be serving up concessions beginning at 10:00 a.m. Live auction will be held from noon til 2:00 p.m. with all proceeds going toward repair costs for the church flooring. There will be an afternoon gospel singing, featuring KT&T and the Sextons from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The location is 9478 Happy Valley Road, Cave City. Please bring a lawn chair. Munfordville Children's Business Fair will be held at First United Methodist Church Saturday, August 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is open to the public, come out and show your support for upcoming young entrepreneurs. The location is Hwy 88 behind the high school.  It is hosted by Hawks Homeschool Coop in partnership with the Acton Children's Business Fair. For more information, call 270-576-7132.

Hart of Autism fundraiser "Straight from the Hart" will be held May 10th at Floral Hall at Hart County Fairgrounds in Munfordville. There will be a dinner with a silent and live auction. Donations are being accepted. For more information, call 270-537-5381.

Open House Event for LeGrande Elementary School has been postponed.  The event will be rescheduled prior to the May board of education meeting which will be held at LeGrande Elementary School on Thursday, May 15th.

Middle School and High School age kids will be at Salem Baptist Church for Youth Serve 309, Sunday evening, June 1st, through Wednesday, June 4th. Please join us for a week of serving the community with service projects and joining together each night for worship. The church is located at 90 Salem Church Road, Cave City.

 

July 6th, 2025

Vacation Bible School will be held at Salem Baptist Church in Cave City Sunday, July 6th, through Thursday, July 10th, at 5:30 p.m. nightly. The week begins with fireworks and a cookout event Sunday evening and Bible school is available for all ages. For more information, call 270-773-2346/

Hart County Senior Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8am until Noon and offers daily meals, activities, exercise equipment use and other great services like informational programs on current issues affecting seniors. For more information and to take advantage of these free community services, call 270-524-1019. The senior center is closed on Holidays.

Bookmobile service from the Hart County Public Library continues expanding! The service is open to any resident of the county and is especially helpful to those with a busy schedule or has trouble getting out. Call 270-524-1953 to request service or ask questions. You can also visit hartcountypubliclibrary.us for more information.

Hardyville Union Church Community Cupboard is open 24/7 for donations and distribution. The exchange dropbox is located in front of the church on US 31E in Hardyville and is open for everyone. Leave what you can and take what you need. Anyone wishing to donate should leave canned and pre-packaged foods that are store-bought only.

Anyone diagnosed with type-two diabetes and obesity is welcome to see if they are eligible for assistance through participation in the University of Kentucky’s Rural Diabetes Study. A personalized plan with a nutritionist, home check-ins and educational resources are available to those who qualify. To learn more, call 859-562-0757.

 

The American Red Cross needs your help in 2024 as a volunteer. Around 1,000 people in Kentucky and Southern Indiana make up the organization's force of response and support.
